Beta readers are LOVIN’ ON “A Great Prince”!

October 31, 2015 // 2 Comments

Here’s the feedback so far: Brad, I just finished and I have a few things to say. At first sight the cover lead me to expect sex on every other page. I had so expected a hot guy to be the object of his affection. What I got was a huge surprise. Something that has become very rare a well written thriller wrapped in historical intrigue and tied up with an old fashioned love story. I was drawn in from page 1 and became irritated at any interruption. Being able to use today’s political mess as a backdrop while recalling Russia’s past and present brilliant. Nicolas reminded me of Peter the Great and his dysfunctional family. Queen Alexandra and her son bring to mind Game of Thrones…I wish the book was longer as it was throughly enjoyable and imminently readable. I hope to see more of this genre from you. I can’t wait until release day as you’re getting one hell of a review. Thank you for such a wonderful story. And this, from someone who saw the early, [MORE]

ANOTHER BEZOSTEROID! One more reason to GTFO Kindle Unlimited…

October 30, 2015 // 0 Comments

YET ANOTHER reason to GET OUT NOW if you’re in Kindle Unlimited…this morning’s mail from 1 Sith Plaza… The KDP Select global fund will be at least $12M in November. Through November, we will have paid out more than $120 million to KDP Select authors over the last 12 months for their Kindle Unlimited (KU) participation. As we’ve expanded KU to more countries, a number of the program’s elements – such as exchange rates, customer reading behavior, and local subscription pricing – now vary substantially by marketplace, making it clear that a ‘one size fits all’ approach won’t work. As just one example, we recently launched KU in India with a local subscription price of ₹199 ($3.00) per month. As a result, starting with the November fund, we will work to take these marketplace differences into account and payouts per country will differ based on local country factors. You will be able to see the amount you have earned in each country in your royalty [MORE]

$250 to Veterans’ Orgs in October from “A Little Too Broken”! $4,600 to date!

October 30, 2015 // 4 Comments

Whoo! Tom and Jamie are back in the saddle this month! Click HERE [EDIT – new theme screwing up main page links…click above on About Me!] for my new improved page with links to All Fine Retailers where you can buy your copy! Full Disclosure: Because I’m broke, I now have to do shit like account for costs. So from the $670 the book brought in, I have to subtract the $170 that BookBub charged me for the listing, before getting to the $500 I can divide into the 50% donation. When I was Daddy Warbucks, I didn’t give a shit about little things like expenses, but now, alas, I have to. Hey! I’m more legit than ever now. I’ve redirected the site so I’m not “Brad Vance Erotica” at WordPress anymore, I’m “BradVanceAuthor.com.” Again, just one of those uncanny feelings I had, that I should do that now, the way that last month I thought I should true up all my CreateSpace books, none of which have sold shit since [MORE]

“A Great Prince” going to betas and proofer tomorrow!

October 28, 2015 // 0 Comments

Yeah, I’m halfway through edits. I really do like this story. It’s fast paced, it’s short (35k), it’s…popcorn, but with real butter, not butter flavoring, if you get me. So Pub Date looks like next Tuesday! Whoo! Bring the money! Sabrina Paige’s Prince Albert is already in the top 40 in the Kindle store. She’s got a huge following already, of course, but hey! I can dream! I’m following her lead completely – if she’s pubbed at .99, so will I. If she’s in KU, this one will be too. I’ve done so crappily in KU lately that I’ve just plain forgotten that not every book loses by being in the program! The .99 price is a crap royalty, but if it rockets you to the top of the list, and the KU pages are then worth the loss…well then. I suppose my greatest consolation is that Nobody Knows Anything any more, so there’s as good a chance that A Great Prince will go wild as there is that it’ll fail [MORE]

“A Great Prince” LIVE next week! And, All My Buy Links In One Place AT LAST!

October 27, 2015 // 2 Comments

I know, right? Took me long enough. The “About Me” link above now includes all links to all books at all retailers! And, A Great Prince comes out next week! I got wonderful news from my Guru, who told me that actually, yeah, it’s not a bad idea pubbing a M/F as Brad, since I have an existing audience/presence as a leg up on everyone who’s pubbing a “first novel” under a new pen name. And, I learned that prereleases are Not Good for ranking on release day – it actually *dilutes* your sales over that 10 days… It’s really only worthwhile if you’re doing a massive ad campaign. So to hell with that. 2-3 more days to write and edit, and then off to my proofers/betas, and TO PRESS next week! Then, we’ll see…. Marc and Jesse are finally percolating. Obviously I’ve set them aside for a while to try and make $$$$, but I’ve also been daunted by the task I set myself with typical manic intensity – [MORE]

COVER REVEAL for “A Great Prince” – coming very soon!

October 26, 2015 // 0 Comments

Yeah, I’ll be sending to my betas/proofer in a few days, and then it’s off to the races…not sure if pubbing M/F as “Brad” is a good idea, and not, as my Guru suggested, using Michelle Machiavelli or some such. But, we’ll see… I have some built in audience/name recognition, and it’s a hell of a lot easier to manage one or two identities at most (including my SF avatar Adam [MORE]

FOUR Rainbow Award Judges LOVE “Would I Lie to You?” and Great News on “Prince”

October 25, 2015 // 2 Comments

Yes! WHOO! Take a listen to these judges’ comments: Very enjoyable read. I loved the chemistry between Marc and Jesse, great character development all the way around.  Well written story and intriguing mystery. First book I’ve read by this author, but won’t be the last. Looking forward to the next one. Highly original, hugely intricate and enjoyable plot dealing with tech, romance, alpha males and trust. The hacking and deception plot kept you guessing, while the past histories of the characters played out in flashback worked really well. Every character was well drawn and defined, and the story rattled along with some hot sex scenes too. Highly recommended. This story was engaging and flowed really well. The plot was interesting and full of well researched detail. The story was not peppered with pointless sex scenes and the characters’ back stories slotted in perfectly. I like some plot with my romance and this one had it — things happen! Although the [MORE]

“Would I Lie to You?” LIVE at Apple iStore, Google Play and Nook!

One more scene to write with Nikolas and Francesca…and sort of dismaying news. Sabrina Paige is just about to publish a “bad boy prince” romance, but hey, maybe princes will be a thing now, and besides, her book is really a stepbromance… My cover artist tipped me off to it, just before I suggested the same purple and gold lettering that Sabrina’s using. Sigh! Well, at least I’ll be able to see what categories she uses for some pro tips. Nothing new under the sun, etc… I’m waiting to hear from My Guru on whether to go with Select (most of these badboyroms are in KU, so even as I pull my gay titles out, this one may need to go in), keywords to use, categories, etc. I have my superstar proofer who worked on Werewolves lined up for this one, [MORE]

Three Scenes Left! And thoughts on the case of Speed V. Haste

October 22, 2015 // 0 Comments

Yes, Nikolas and Francesca are ripping along – and a pro cover reveal coming soon! I’m really enjoying it. I’ve got a big heterosexin’ scene to end the story, but I think this time I’m ready, unlike when I wrote “Angelina’s” attempt at heteromance. I felt really uncomfortable putting Tab A in Slot B in that case, but looking back, I think it was partly because the characters were fairly two-dimensional, so the sex was two-dimensional as well. Niko and Francesca are real people to me, and they’ve got that same general kind of combative/attractive relationship that Marc and Jesse have. And, you know, “parts is parts,” and I’m not feeling the stage fright I felt about it last time. This will be a short book, at 35k, but…it feels right. I know I need to go back and put in some more detail, things about secondary characters and show not tell more of Niko’s backstory. I think I skipped over that [MORE]
