MY GAY AGENDA FOR SUMMER ’17! Marc and Jesse are up NEXT!

June 18, 2017 // 0 Comments

Yeah, it’s been a strange time. Conning Colin, to both my and my publisher’s surprise, tanked at the box office. I was sure as sure can be that, well, you know. It’s my best work, it’s a sparkling romantic comedy, when your straight male publisher loves it I mean you know it’s good… So. I can’t help but try and run an autopsy. I know that some readers and reviewers were confused by the multiple facades of Henry / Hamilton / Dillinger, that it wasn’t apparent to them that all three were the same person. I thought it was perfectly clear and so did many readers, but, what can you do? I know that I committed a cardinal sin in fucking with trope. That is, there’s a trope where the “high class escort” who’s all Christian Grey and shit is the MC and that’s how I intro’d Henry… only to blow that out of the water by the end of the second chapter, revealing him to be not Hamilton Dillon, Rich Elegant [MORE]

“A Little Too Broken” was a FINALIST in Reddit’s Screenplay Competition!

June 14, 2017 // 2 Comments

I am soooo chuffed! Click here for proof lol. REDDIT SCREENWRITING CONTEST 2017 – RESULTS! from Screenwriting Read it for yourself here! Honestly, I’d forgotten all about my submission – the Kickstarter failed, Mom was in the hospital (she’s okay now), I was finishing Conning Colin and angsting over WIL The Audiobook’s eternal “brief review” and this that the other, so yeah. Out of 200 screenplays, I made the top 20 as a finalist. FOR MY FIRST SCREENPLAY! So don’t let anyone humba dumba you about “you should throw your first screenplay in the trash humba dumba.” I DON’T SUCK AT THIS. It’s official! Because /r/screenwriting is occupied by a great mix of everyone from noobs to WGA old pros. And if I got into the top 20 out of 200 subs… I’m chuffeder than chuffed. Onward and upward! I’m well into my short filmmaking class (I’m AD on the next movie!) and yeah, soon I’ll be ready to pick [MORE]

Would I Lie to You: The Audiobook is… LIVE ON AUDIBLE!!!

June 6, 2017 // 2 Comments

https://www.audible.com/pd/Romance/Would-I-Lie-to-You-Audiobook/B071ZT62R5 It’s true! At long last… I’m only hoping that I’m now flagged in their system as /troublemaker, and it won’t take 900 years to get through the approval process on Strength in Numbers. Which, TBH, I set aside at 75% two weeks ago – I just had this existential dread that WIL would never, ever go live, that it was all for nothing… Sorry if that sounds dramatic, but that’s how it felt. Small victories, right? I won’t even talk about a vicious troll clusterfuck/personal attack I had to deal with on Amazon/Facebook, since it’s over. But damn it took the wind out of me. The vicious attack got deleted (seems I’m not the only authorial victim of this person’s bile and venom) and I was in tears this a.m. when I got the email that WIL was finally live… My new motto is “you can’t cry till you win.” Because until you do, [MORE]

“Conning Colin” IS LIVE!!!

June 2, 2017 // 0 Comments

Colin O’Neill has been in a rut for some time now. Whether it’s his acting career or his newly-discovered identity as a gay man, he can’t seem to get any traction in his job or his love life. What he needs is a change. What he needs is a shock to his system. What he needs is Hamilton. Hamilton. Dillinger. Harrison. He goes by different names to fulfill a world of different fantasies, but he’s most popular as Hamilton, the escort who acts and dresses like he’s worth a million bucks. Few people know the man behind the character, Henry Davis. He’s yet another New Yorker living on the financial edge, cobbling together jobs in the sex industry to make a living. Henry wants nothing more than to drop the facade, to live in cargo shorts and an old Mets t-shirt, working as a screenwriter, to be free from playing the part of the high class lover. But first, he’s got to write the perfect screenplay… As “Hamilton” guides Colin into [MORE]

“Conning Colin” Live Friday! “Would I Lie” Audio approved! $5,720 to IAVA etc.!

June 1, 2017 // 0 Comments

Would I Lie: The Audiobook is approved at last! Should be on shelves in a day or two… Maybe my personal Mercury’s coming out of retrograde… First off, I want to share with you what my straight male publisher said about Conning Colin, going live tomorrow: This book gets a big thumbs up from me. I definitely empathized with Colin’s change of character. Putting himself in character for Taco Fuckin Bell was really great. The Hollywood and script-writing parts are obviously researched, I know you’ve got that theater class so you know more about it than me, but from what I know, you got it exactly right. There are a dozen really small touches that I think were just fantastic that I can’t remember all at once, but I think this one is a great one, and I hope people jump right from this book to your self-pubbed work. I MEAN WOW RIGHT? When you win the straight guy vote, you’ve got a hell of a book 🙂 It’s funny, rereading the book, [MORE]
